Karisma and Preeti: Sisters Who Found Hope in the Midst of Adversity
At just 10 and 13 years old, Karishma and Preeti have already faced more challenges than most of us will experience in a lifetime. Their lives took an unexpected turn losing their mother to cancer earlier this year. It was a devastating blow for the family, leaving the girls vulnerable and alone. Their father is a security guard and because of an ever-changing work schedule that includes overnights, he struggled to care for them on his own. Their father could not leave the children alone, instead, he requested his daughters be cared for by our Hope Center at St. Micheals in Delhi so that they can get an education and be properly looked after.

Karisma’s Resilience
Despite her young age, Karisma carries the weight of the world on her shoulders as she has a passion for helping others. Karisma was very close to her mother and was inspired by the care and compassion she witnessed while her mother was battling cancer. Because of that, Karisma now dreams of becoming a nurse, She is grateful for the opportunity to receive a good education and a safe place to live at Hope Partners International

Preeti’s Dreams
Preeti, the older of the two, is also thriving at our Hope Center. She enjoys playing games like hide and seek and dreams of becoming a teacher. Her favorite food is rice with fried eggs, and her favorite color is purple. Like her sister, she was hit hard by their mother’s passing, but she is determined to make the most of her second chance at a bright future.
