SEEING GOD AT WORK
A celebration of 2023 and a look at what’s ahead
Guided by God’s hand, Hope Partners has rescued children and transformed lives, thanks to your generous support. We share these stories of renewal and hope, achieved together — a journey impossible without you.
Dear Hope Advocates
I kindly request a moment of your time to speak on behalf of the over 350 Hope Partners International team members working around the world.
As we approach Christmas amidst the busyness in America, I am reminded by the Holy Spirit’s whisper to ‘be still’ and reflect on the Advent season. This time symbolizes expectant waiting and preparation for both the celebration of Christ’s Nativity at Christmas and His return at the Second Coming.
The mission of Christ and the Cross brings to mind a mental snapshot of our Savior, who endured beatings, was stripped naked, flogged unmercifully, and finally crucified. This was done so that our sins could be paid for, offering us the hope of heaven if we believe. It’s God’s promise to us.
This image of Jesus on the Cross, showcasing the complete stewardship of the Son of God, leads us to ask, ‘What does Jesus ask of us?’ Consider Matthew 25:40, where the King says, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
Yet, we live in a broken world filled with unimaginable atrocities: unrelenting poverty, diseases like leprosy, human sex trafficking of children, some as young as eight, child slavery, and a lack of education, especially for girls, preventing them from even dreaming.
These are the places and situations where God has placed us to see, to weep, and to help with an unwavering commitment to the mission of Hope Partners International: To rescue children and transform their lives through acts of compassion in Jesus’ name.
We operate in countries such as Costa Rica, Venezuela, Kenya, India, Romania, Sri Lanka, and Ukraine. Through 11 Hope Centers across 6 countries and 5 continents, we are caring for 2,460 children, rescuing and transforming them by providing safe places, healthy food, education, and the opportunity to become followers of Jesus—truly the start of hope out of hopelessness.
I extend my heartfelt thanks to our partners, churches, organizations, and donors. Your support is invaluable in bringing hope to these children. Our field directors and teams, though not overpaid, give their hearts and talents to this mission. Your financial support and prayers have been essential.
This year marks a significant milestone in our ministry at Hope Partners. We will celebrate the Grand Opening of our first brand-new Hope Center in Pavas Slum, Costa Rica. Our Country Director, Ashley Gonzalez, committed to being a missionary at only eight years of age and has never wavered. Alongside her husband Julio, Pastor and Founder of the Openhouse Project, and their team, have made a remarkable difference. The support from those who have visited and continue to give sustains our efforts.
Additionally, construction of our second new Hope Center in Babadag, Romania, is underway, amid the shadows of the Ukraine War.
This Christmas, alongside gifts for your spouse, children, and grandchildren, consider a legacy gift for heaven—a gift that honors the birth of Christ and anticipates His return. Be found faithful. Be sacrificial. Consider supporting Hope Partners International.
We continue to do our best, always hoping and imparting hope in Jesus’ name.
Always with Hope,
Kirk Nowery
Hope Partners is an International ministry with a simple mission:
To rescue children and transform their lives through acts of compassion in Jesus’ name.
How do we do it?
We create “centers of hope” in some of the most impoverished parts of the world to care for the most vulnerable among us.
A Hope Center is…
A place to learn and grow. It’s a place of joy and most importantly, it’s a place of HOPE.
Each of our Hope Centers is a home base for vulnerable children, providing them a safe place of refuge from abuse, drugs, and sex trafficking. In addition to safety, we provide consistent nutritious food, education through college or vocational school, and a path to hope for their future.
At the center of it all is the chance to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Rescue is the first step
This is what we accomplished with your support
In 2023, Hope Partners International focused on crisis intervention and addressed extreme needs worldwide through diverse programs. Our local Hope Centers played a pivotal role in alleviating poverty, providing food to the hungry, and attending to the medical needs of children. Additionally, in Costa Rica we fostered personal growth and transformation through our Hope Sports Academy, yet another way to contribute to the holistic development of the youth we serve.

Celebrating Milestones: A new Hope Center in Costa Rica and construction underway in Romania
Costa Rica
Hope Partners is proud to announce the opening of our first “ground-up” Hope Center in Pavas, San Jose, Costa Rica, a significant milestone in our nine-year history in Costa Rica. Home to 60,000 people, this area faces a challenging reality where only 20% of residents graduate high school.
Our new Hope Center will provide vital support to over 600 children and adolescents, exceeding the capacity of our original location. Furthermore, it will address critical issues like hunger, malnutrition, gang violence, drug addiction, teen pregnancy, and inadequate housing.
Romania
Simultaneously, our big dream of a new Hope Center in Romania, is quickly materializing. Babadag, a small city in south-eastern Romania, is marked by extreme poverty and limited opportunities, particularly within its diverse Roma Muslim community. Because many locals leave the country for survival, children often end up under the care of older siblings.
Our Hope Center director in Babadag, Vali Pavlov, and his wife have been dreaming about bringing the Gospel to this community for a very long time. This project also aims to mitigate unemployment, healthcare scarcity, and the lack of food.
Hope Partners Aid to Ukraine:
Two-years into crisis
Hope Partners amplifies support for Ukrainian refugees
Hope Partners International has actively continued our humanitarian mission in areas of Ukraine since the conflict began on February 24, 2022. Our team, based in Romania, has significantly scaled up efforts to assist those affected.
In 2023, we have successfully sent 33 vans filled with essential supplies into Ukraine, meeting critical needs with medical supplies, food, clothing, and more. Additionally, we’ve provided care to 9,000 refugees this year and distributed over 300,000 meals to those in dire need. These efforts, crucial in offering hope and support during this challenging time, have been made possible through the generous contributions and unwavering support of our Romanian/Ukrainian church network.

Financial Summary
Hope Partners International is an organization that has always depended on the provision of God through His people. This has dictated when and how we take steps forward in launching new Hope Centers and expanding the work of rescue and transformation.
From the beginning, our focus has been all about bringing the gospel of Jesus to suffering and marginalized children with a commitment to never waver from the conviction that Jesus alone is the HOPE of the world.
Because we depend on the financial support of others, we have committed to transparency, integrity and Biblical stewardship. One of the ways we do this is through submitting to the oversight and examination of the ECFA also known as The Evangelical Council For Financial Accountability. Another way is through opening our books up to independent, non-profit evaluators like Charity Navigators and Guide Star where we have maintained a top rating.
We are humbled by the trust each donor places in Hope Partners as they invest their hard earned resources into the mission of “Rescuing Children and Transforming Their Lives Through Acts of Compassion in Jesus’ Name.”
