Opening the Door to Hope

In the heart of the Kawangware slums in Nairobi, the Hope Center stands as a symbol of resilience and transformation. Despite facing severe economic crises and political turmoil, our mission at Hope Partners International remains steadfast: to rescue children and transform their lives in Jesus’ name.

Economic Hardships and Rising Costs

Kenya has been grappling with a nationwide economic crisis. Inflation has skyrocketed, making it difficult for families to afford basic necessities. The recent finance bill has only added to the burden, leading to widespread protests and unrest. “For the last few weeks, we have not been able to have our regular sessions in the Hope Center,” says James Otundo, our Hope Center director in Nairobi.

Below is a short video recap of what James Otundo had to share

Impact on the Children

The protests and economic hardships have directly affected the children we serve. Schools were forced to close, and children had to stay home, missing out on their education and regular meals. “Our children are back in school now, thanks to the consistent dialogue and prayers,” James shares. This disruption has highlighted the critical role our Hope Center plays in providing stability and care for these children.

Despite the challenges, our Hope Center has continued to serve as a sanctuary for children in need. Our faith in Jesus and unwavering commitment to these children have kept us strong through these difficult times.
