A Year of Unyielding Support
In 2023, Hope Partners sent 33 vans filled with essential supplies into Ukraine. These vans delivered critical medical supplies, food, clothing, and other necessities, addressing the immediate needs of those affected by the war. Additionally, our efforts provided care to 9,000 refugees and distributed over 300,000 meals to those in dire need. This remarkable work underscores our dedication to serving the most vulnerable, even in the most challenging circumstances.
Urgent Needs for the Coming Winter
As the conflict continues, the needs multiply and spread. An estimated 14.6 million people in Ukraine will require humanitarian assistance this year alone. Particularly vulnerable groups include older people and those with disabilities who may be unable to flee from high-risk areas. In preparation for the upcoming winter, we are focusing on three critical areas of need:
- Food and Supplies: $5,000
- Winter Shoes for Refugee Children: $6,000 for 250 children
- Generators: $6,000
Total: $17,000
Recent Tragedies
To make matters worse, in the past few days, a Russian missile strike partially destroyed Ukraine’s largest children’s hospital in Kyiv, killing at least 31 people and injuring 125 others. This tragic event highlights the urgent need for continued support and relief efforts. Reports have also highlighted widespread shelling and drone attacks on Ukrainian settlements, with over 100 locations targeted in a single day, causing further displacement and destruction.
Urgent Need for Generators
International support from organizations like Hope Partners continues to play a crucial role in supporting Ukraine. But because of the bombings, big cities like Kiev, Odesa, Kharkiv or Lviv are without electricity even 12 hours a day. However, businesses continue to operate and gasoline generators are in high demand so your help is needed more than ever!
Hope Partners’ Life-Saving Mission
Despite these challenges, Hope Partners remains committed to its life-saving mission. Our work in Ukraine has been a beacon of hope, providing essential support and care to thousands. As we look ahead to our September mission trip, we are determined to continue this vital work. Your support is crucial in helping us meet these needs and bring hope to those suffering in Ukraine.
