In the face of immense challenges such as extreme poverty, lack of access to education, and exposure to crime, violence, and exploitation in the slums of Kawangware, Kenya, Hope Partners International comes to the rescue, providing children with transformative opportunities and a brighter future. Through our long-term commitment to each child, we equip them to overcome these challenges and become all that God created them to be.

Today, we are excited to share the inspiring story of Calvin, a young man who has come a long way thanks to the support of Hope Partners International and his sponsors.

Calvin was sponsored five years ago and was rescued from the slums of Kawangware. Through sponsorship, Calvin was able to attend World Hope Academy for eight years, followed by Mbale Boys High School for four years. He recently completed his high school education and is now preparing to attend university.

Throughout his journey, Calvin has experienced incredible transformation. He has never been sent home for school fees and has been able to focus on his studies, thanks to the financial support of his sponsors. Calvin’s mother has also played a crucial role in his success, providing constant love and encouragement.

In addition to his academic achievements, Calvin has discovered a love for music. He is currently taking music lessons at his church, where he is learning about music production and engineering. With a passion for the arts and a strong foundation in education, Calvin is eager to pursue a career in music production.

At university, Calvin plans to study hotel and hospitality management, further expanding his skillset and opening up new opportunities for his future.

Calvin expresses his heartfelt gratitude to his sponsors and the Hope Partners family for their unwavering support. He acknowledges the challenges of life in the slums and is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to pursue his dreams without the burden of financial struggles.
