The Ukraine Invasion: One Year Later
One year ago, on February 24, 2022, the ground invasion in Ukraine began, plunging the region into a conflict that caused immense suffering. The impact of this crisis has been far-reaching, with millions of lives changed forever due to the atrocities committed against the Ukrainian people. The ongoing violence, including constant shelling and bombings, continues to take lives and cause significant damage to critical infrastructure and homes.
To start, we converted one of our Hope Centers nearest Constanta, Romania just 60 miles from the border of Ukraine into a place of safety for refugees. Since then, we have converted churches and spare rooms. We have even rented apartments and hotels to provide a safe place for the refugees to live in or transition from. Our Hope Center staff has been working hard 24/7 to provide prayers, safe shelter, hot meals, hygiene supplies, generators to keep warm, transport to safe areas, counseling support, and more. Through acts of compassion and your financial support, we began to help in the immediate crisis, all in Jesus’ name.
For the past year, Hope Partners International has been providing HOPE to those affected by the conflict but it is completely because of the hearts of our donors. Through our Ukraine Crisis fund, we have been able to provide vital support to refugees, mothers, and their children, giving them a safe place to stay, including food, and medical care. Since the start of the conflict, we have provided 600,000 meals and cared for over 19,000 desperate refugees in some capacity.
God accomplished much in the lives of those he has put before Hope Partners, and we could not have done this without you.
Hope Partners is committed to sharing the love of Christ with those in need and is making a real difference in the lives of the Ukraine refugees. For example, we are continually sending supply vans into the deepest parts of Ukraine to help struggling mothers care for their children in the midst of the conflict. Through your donations, we are able to provide much-needed generators, warm blankets, and other winter essentials, giving them the HOPE and strength to carry on.
As we mark one year since the start of the ground invasion in Ukraine, it is important to remember those who are still suffering and in need of our support. By giving to Hope Partners, you can be assured we will continue to provide vital assistance to those affected by the conflict, and make a real difference in the lives of refugees in the midst of tragedy and work towards a better future for all.
